Blog Post 1

     One thing that I hope to learn in this class is how to better use technology to make my classroom a better learning space when I become a teacher. With the landscape of how technology is used in class's today it would be better to get ahead of the curve and find a way to make it useful in a class. Things such as social media or AI though most would never think could be useful in class only a distraction but if used the right way can make for a more dynamic structured class that can offer more to learn and new ways to learn that could take place even outside of the classroom. Thats why when I signed up to take this class i was hoping I would learn and see a new way that I could use technology in class so that I could make a better class room experience. 

    The most technology that I have used in class prior to this would be simple as laptops and credible sources to use for research. Most of my experience comes from the past years being in high school and the most important piece of technology would be the laptop or computer as now they are regular on most school campuses. Outside of that that is all the prior knowledge that I have on educational technology that I know of.

    My existing PLN would have to be the study of music as since a young age I have always been very fascinated in music and its history. When I say music I mean like songs that you here on the radio and how since the 1900's music has changed and evolved over time. I take time online and do a lot of research on types of bands and genres so I can be more informed on them and be well rounded when I listen to music. I also have a family members who love music as much as me and have showed me all types of music and there meaning and is what truly got me fascinated in music and why people listen to different types of music. These are the resources that I have used to have a PLN for one of my hobbies

    Hi Payton. I find it very interesting that you study the history of music. Over the past couple of months, I too have become more curious as too different styles of music from different eras, and I'm currently listening to a variety of musicians from the 60's.

    Your blog is really well-written! Learning about your PLN was very informative, and your reason for wanting to take this class, to improve the classroom experience, seems very passionate and like such good motivation to be learning more about technology.

      Blogging in my opinion has been a very fun and new way to express what I have learned in this class in a way that I can share with everyone. One of my favorite parts of the blog has been the ability to share what I have learned and understood from this class weather that be applying or talking about an assignment that we went over in class. Something that has made blogging tough is that some ideas it is harder to blog about and it can seem kind of run rather than me truly sharing something that would be meaningful.       There were a lot of new skills that I learned while working on assignment 5 that truly allowed me to learn more about how powerpoint works and ways that when I become a teacher I can make my class a lot more interactive. Some new features that I learned or used for the first time was the button feature as most power points I made before this where more informative so I would click and explain on the slide, I also learned more on how to use animations and adding sounds so that the powerpoint is more interactive. One thing that I did not like about the assignment was how for each slide I had to go in and direct them to each button I wish there was a quicker way to go about that.
